Seaton is located within an area of the South West which contains the finest art and culture centres in East Devon.
The town offers a variety of vibrant entertainment and cultural attractions from art societies and exhibitions, artisan craft markets, musical recitals, theatre and dance groups, an annual illuminated carnival, and regular arts events.
Vibrant Entertainment and Cultural Attractions
Seaton is fortunate to have some excellent art and culture on its doorstep. The town has a lively arts community and regular musical recitals, theatre productions, and dance shows are staged.
The Gateway Seaton’s cultural centre located in the heart of Seaton at the Town Hall offers entertainment and activities for all ages and interests and hosts year round concerts, theatrical productions, comedy clubs, cinema projections and exhibitions. Art lovers will be inspired by the much anticipated annual Seaton Art Festival and also by Art@Jubilee – a summer outdoor art market in Seaton’s Jubilee Gardens overlooking the sea.
There are also many café’s in Seaton which host art displays throughout the year.
Seaton Town Development Team’s summer outdoor art show Art@Jubilee takes place on the third Sunday of each month over the summer. Set in the stunning location of Jubilee Gardens overlooking the sea, it showcases the work of local artists from Devon, Dorset and Somerset.
Art@Jubilee dates for 2017 are Sundays May 21, June 18, July 23, Aug 20, Sept 24 PLUS a special Saturday Art@Jubilee on July 1 for the Seaton Cyclefest Vintage day.
Seaton Artisan Market
Seaton Artisan Market offers beautiful arts and crafts from local artisans from Devon, Dorset and Somerset. Run at the lovely setting of Windsor Gardens in the Town Centre it’s held on the first Saturday of each month from April to September between 10am-2pm in the heart of the town centre during spring, and on Thury Harcourt over the summer.
Dates for 2017 are Saturdays April 1, May 6, June 3, 5 Aug, 2 Sept, Dec 9
Our Artisan Christmas market takes place at the Christmas Lights Festival ( Friday Dec 1st 2017) packed with gorgeous products for Christmas shopping.
Entry to the markets is free.

Seaton is located near to some of the finest art and culture centres in East Devon and it’s no surprise that the first illuminated carnival of the season takes place in the town. Seaton Carnival is a much anticipated annual evening procession and a fantastic event for families (see events).
Art & Craft shopping
You’ll find some beautiful artisan products in Seaton including painting, specialist retailers, hand-made glass and craft shops. Seaton is renowned for its Art Society. There are many places to pick up jewellery, unique crafts, or art for yourself or as a gift for friends from retailers.
