Whatever your experience come along and improve your bird identification skills

Join an experienced volunteer guide for an informal drop-in session to help improve your bird identification skills and get the most out of your visit to Seaton Wetlands.

All are welcome to come and enjoy time spent birdwatching, whatever your level of knowledge.

Hide TBC, follow signs on the day.

Telescopes and binoculars are available for use in the hide free of charge during the session.

Gutta Work on Silk

Gutta design on silk (also known as the Serti technique) is where a chosen design is outlined with gutta resist using a gutta applicator and nib. Once the gutta resist has dried it acts as a barrier for the Silk paint allowing you to achieve sharply defined borders.

For this workshop you will be provided with and can keep 50cm x 50cm of silk fabric, an 8” embroidery hoop, a gutta applicator and nib and a tube of gutta resist.
There will be enough silk fabric for you to create four outlined designs which you can paint at your on convenience.

You do not need to be able to draw to take part in this workshop. An array of designs will be available from which to chose. It’s just like tracing with a pencil. The only difference is that you use the gutta applicator instead.

There will be silk painting kits available to purchase on the day at just £6.50 and an assortment of pre gutta outlined designs priced from £5.50.

After School Craft Club

Age: 6+  

Cost: £8.00

After school crafting for children. We offer different crafts to try over the weeks, and, when the time is right, give them a seasonal twist.

The price includes all materials and squash or water. We suggest your child brings a snack with them. We’ll have a small selection that you can buy for your child if you prefer.

Seaton & Me Reminiscence

Organised by the Charity Action East Devon, you are invited to the February session of the Seaton & Me Reminiscence project.

This session is titled Silver Screen Reminiscence and will be held at the Gateway Theatre in Seaton.
