Family Beach Combing

Coastal Craft Collective, Seaton Devon
An ideal opportunity to have some family fun on Seaton beach and in our light and airy creative space.
We meet in the workshop space behind our shop then walk the short distance to the beach to explore, breathe in the sea air and see what we can find. We’ll then return to our workshop for a drink and some crafting fun.
You can work together with your loved ones to create one item or each work on your own creations using your beach finds and items from our extensive beach find stash.
Make a special souvenir to take home with you – summer memories that you can keep in a special place and in the cold dark days in winter you can think back to the warmth of summer.
All materials, tea, coffee, squash & biscuits included.
Coastal Spaces
Sea air helps us to absorb more oxygen and balances our seratonin levels making us feel happier. The blue colour of the sea helps to calm our feelings and stabilises the mind. By being out in the fresh air we are more relaxed, happier, sleep better and so feel full of energy.

Children's Paint Pouring

Coastal Craft Collective, Seaton Devon

Suitable for children age 6+

Paint pouring uses acrylic paint along with a paint medium that encourages the paint to develop circular cells which create abstract masterpieces by letting the paint pigment basically run amok. There are endless creative possibilities thanks to a number of techniques which aid the process. We will explore some of them with the children at this workshop.

Paint pouring is extremely messy.  Please make sure that your children wear old clothes. We do have aprons and old shirts.  But feel free to supply your own aprons/overalls.

During the workshop, the children will each ‘paint pour’ on two A4 canvases using two different paint pouring techniques. They will also be supplied with some paper to mop up any residual paint should they want to use this for other crafting purposes at home.  The canvases will need to be left for at least 24 hours to dry.  Or you can bring along a large box to take them home.
