Wonder (Film)

The Gateway, Seaton

Based on the New York Times bestseller, WONDER tells the inspiring and heartwarming story of August Pullman. Born with facial differences that, up until now, have prevented him from going to a mainstream school, Auggie becomes the most unlikely of heroes when he enters the local fifth grade. As his family, his new classmates, and the larger community all struggle to find their compassion and acceptance, Auggie’s extraordinary journey will unite them all and prove you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out. Brilliant performances by Julia Roberts & Owen Wilson as Auggie’s parents and an exceptional performance by young actor Jacob Tremblay as Auggie.

The Flames of Paris (Bolshoi Ballet broadcast)

The Gateway, Seaton

The Flames of Paris

Music: Boris Asafiev

Choreography: Alexei Ratmansky

Libretto: Nikolai Volkov & Vladimir Dmitriev

In the era of the French Revolution, Jeanne and her brother Jérôme leave Marseille for Paris
in support of the revolutionary effort that is taking over the capital.
While fighting for freedom, they both encounter love along the way…

Very few ballets can properly depict the Bolshoi’s overflowing energy and fiery passion as can
Alexei Ratmansky’s captivating revival of Vasily Vainonen’s The Flames of Paris.
With powerful virtuosity and some of the most stunning pas de deux, the Bolshoi Ballet displays
an exuberance almost too enormous for the Moscow stage.
