Seaton has lots to offer families no matter what the time of year from attractions such as Seaton Jurassic and The Gateway which are perfect no matter the weather, Seaton Museum, or visit Seaton Swimming pool.
Seaton Wetlands with its 4km of level trails and boardwalks alongside the River Axe is lovely at any time of year, and Seaton Tramway which winds its narrow gauge heritage trams through beautiful marshlands.
The town has several beautiful parks and gardens to explore which offer activities such as adventure golf, a play ground and an outdoor gym at Seafield Gardens, or the Labyrinth & Time Line at CliffField Gardens.
Seaton is an active town and hosts a range of events throughout the year, including a Natural Seaton Festival, the Seaton CycleFest, The Grizzly and many theatre and musical performances. See our Events page for more information.
This year the annual Carnival with its evening parade of illuminated floats will be running alongside our Christmas Lights Switch on and Late Night Shopping on Dec 1st.
Seaton’s mile long stretch of pebbly beach is beautiful at any time of year and perfect for families. There’s plenty of opportunity for rock pooling or trying out paddleboarding (available on the West Walk), or just relaxing.

Parks & Gardens
Explore our lovely parks, gardens, mile long pebble beach and glorious countryside. Children will love the play parks at Seafield Gardens, Elizabeth Road, and the Underfleet.
The town’s iconic Victorian Clock Tower can be seen here. This lovely park, complete with outdoor gym equipment, a bowling green, adventure golf course, tennis courts, a children’s play area, two hot houses, and a picturesque lily pond overlooks the beach.
Where you can enjoy sitting in the amphitheater and taking in the beautiful sea views, or play chess on the tables. Rain or shine, our mile long stretch of beach will inspire you. Throughout the summer months on the third Sunday of the month from May to September, Jubilee Gardens host the Art@Jubilee art exhibition and sales.
Cliff Field Gardens
In Cliff Field Gardens, you’ll discover Seaton Labyrinth constructed to celebrate the 1000th anniversary of the town. Its 11 circuits and 60 foot diameter reveal 185 million years of evolution. You’ll also find the Geological Timeline which was created by Seaton Town Council with additional funding from Devon County Council and Fields in Trust. The Timeline tells the story of the Earth, beginning with the formation of our planet 4600 million years ago, and using time intervals to describe key events in the evolution of life from its earliest stages to the emergence of humans.
Children will love our fantastic new Jurassic themed Adventure Play Park at the Underfleet Park. Voted for by local schools and recently installed next to the town’s skate park, you can zip down a 30-foot zip wire, explore the bat tunnels and scale the rocks at the cretaceous zone or swing through Viper ropes and climb the Dinosaur nest in the Jurassic zone. The play area leads out to the Seaton Wetlands. You can also pick up Seaton’s new Orienteering Course which starts at the Tourist Information Centre inside Seaton Jurassic.
You’ll find some beautiful walks around Seaton. The countryside is so important in this area of Devon that it has been designated as an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ (‘AONB’). Walking through it is impressive at any time of year and in any weather conditions.
