Scouts in Seaton

Are you looking for adventure? Scouts is open to any boys and girls aged 10 to 14 and a half years old, and is the UK’s biggest mixed youth organisation, offering the chance to try new adventures, learn new skills, meet new people and have fun.

Seaton’s group is the 1st Seaton Scout Group, and they meet every Thursday evening from 7.15-9pm in the Scout Hut on Scalwell Lane.  Recent activities include camping at Woodlands Park, a night hike, rifle shooting, archery, climbing, cooking breakfast and backwoods cooking.

Activity badges these days are very varied, to reflect a mix of old-fashioned scouting activities, such as camping, orienteering, and survival skills, and newer skills such as IT skills,  media relations and marketing and lots of sports, talents, practical skills and hobbies are covered. Scouts will make new friends, gain confidence and social skills and try lots of new skills, activities and opportunities.

Scouting relies heavily on their teams of volunteers, and Seaton, like most groups, needs more adult helpers. Full training is given, and volunteering can be hugely rewarding.
